Police: 3 injured at Romeoville bowling alley shooting

Shooting happened as a result of a physical altercation, police said

Three people were shot after a physical altercation at a bowling alley in Romeoville early Sunday morning, police said.

The Romeoville Police Department said in a Facebook post it was notified at 1:18 a.m. of shots being fired inside the Bowlero bowling alley at 735 N. Center Boulevard, just off of Weber Road near an interchange with Interstate 55 on the village’s west side.

When officers arrived, they found three individuals with gunshot wounds, according to the post. Officers and security staff immediately rendered aid to the victims.

The post did not say whether the victims were transported to an area hospital or what their conditions were.

A Romeoville police spokesman did not immediately return a phone call on the incident.

The offender had fled the scene after the shooting, according to the post.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated the shooting happened as a result of a physical altercation between two people at the bowling alley.

The Romeoville Police Department is investigating the shooting and anyone with information is asked to call its Investigations Unit at 815-886-7219.
