D. 202 lottery to its preschool program open through April 29

An online system is being used again this year

Parents may apply for a tuition-based preschool program at Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 through an online application.

The 2021-22 lottery to attend District 202′s preschool programs is open now and continue through April 29. The lottery drawing will be held May 3.

These programs for the 2021-2022 school year will be located at Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, Freedom Elementary, Liberty Elementary and Wallin Oaks Elementary schools.

Bonnie McBeth Learning Center and Wallin Oaks Elementary School are offering two, three and five-day programs, Liberty and Freedom elementary schools have a five-day program.

According to a news release from District 202, “Enrollment for the general education preschool program at Bonnie McBeth is open to all District 202 children ages 3 to 5. This program is in an inclusive setting.” Students must be 3 years old on or before Sept. 1 to enroll for the 2021-2022 school year.

Parents will receive a confirmation email no later than May 5 letting parents know if their children were accepted for the lottery or placed on waiting list. Registration for students who were accepted will be in May.

However, families who do not register and pay the $100 deposit fee by May 28 will lose their spot in the program. Parents who have students on the waiting list will then be notified of any openings as of June 1.

Lottery application information is available at the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center, 15730 Howard Street, Plainfield; the District 202 Administrative Center, 15732 Howard Street, Plainfield; and at all District 202 elementary schools.

The online lottery application form is posted under “Announcements” on the front page of the Bonnie McBeth Learning Center website at psd202.org/mcbeth and the front page of the district website at psd202.org.
