The Forest Preserve District of Will County said it will remove its pandemic-related program and activity capacity limits starting June 1.
The district said in a news release it made the change due to the state’s transition to the “bridge phase” before a full reopening amid declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations
The district also said it will no longer mandate program participants and visitors who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to wear masks. It noted public health guidance still advised those who are not fully vaccinated to wear masks when visiting Forest Preserve facilities or attending indoor and outdoor programs.
As of June 1, capacity levels will be increasing throughout the district to:
· 200 for picnics/camping
· 500 for non-district events, day camps and camporees
· 50 for outdoor public programs
· 30 for indoor public programs
· 100 for outdoor field trips and youth groups
· 150 for indoor weddings at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center
