Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County announced it will accept applications for admission from non-county residents.
The county’s nursing home has been serving Will County residents since 1955, according to a news release.
The Will County Board voted last Thursday to amend a resolution to allow for the change in policy. The change will remain in effect until Dec. 1 of this year and will be subject to further review.
“We have received numerous requests for these types of admissions and this approval will allow Sunny Hill to serve more families seeking quality care for their loved ones,” said Maggie McDowell, administrator of the nursing home.
County officials touted the nursing home’s long history of providing care to residents. The facility is also duel certified for Medicaid and Medicare, the county said.
“We are fortunate to have a quality skilled facility such as Sunny Hill in Will County,” said County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant. “The staff and amenities of Sunny Hill are second to none and I am proud of our dedicated staff. This decision by the County Board is important to families seeking superior care for their loved ones.”
