The city of Joliet has filled key positions since February, replacing several administrators and managers who retired last year.
Joliet in May announced the arrival of Eva-Marie Tropper, the new director of community development, who started June 1 at a salary of $145,000. Tropper comes to Joliet from the city of Chicago, where she was project manager in the Department of Planning and Development and held other planning positions.
Tropper is a city department head, replacing former Kendall Jackson as community development director.
A number of other supervisory positions also have been filled, according to information provided by the Joliet Department of Human Resources.
Mike Todorovic started May 3 as deputy director of public works.
Todorovic replaces Greg Ruddy, who was promoted to public works director in January to replace James Trizna, who retired. Todorovic’s job was renamed and had formerly been titled public works administrator.
Todorovic, whose salary is $123,000, previously held civil engineer and project engineer positions with the city of Naperville and the villages of Westmont and Villla Park.
Joseph Nordman was hired April 12 as the city’s roadways engineer.
Nordman, whose salary is $125,000, was a project manager with Hamilton Consulting Engineers and Robinson Engineering. He also had worked as a port engineer for the Ports of Indiana.
He replaces Mike Eulitz, who retired last year as the city’s public assets supervisor and roadways engineer.
City employee Brent Fraser has taken on the duties of public assets supervisor.
Jeffrey Price on Feb. 1 was hired as fleet services director, replacing Dave Druzik who retired last year, at a salary of $115,000.
Price previously was manager of terminal operations for Groendyke Transport and manger of fleet operations for Southern Company Gas. He also has been an adjunct faculty instructor at Joliet Junior College.
The city also has hired Todd Lenzie at a salary of $95,000 for a newly created assistant corporation counsel position.
Lenzie, who has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a law degree, was most recently an assistant public defender for Will County and previously worked as an engineer with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. He started with the city on May 28.
