City Hall will be closed on Friday and again Dec. 31 for the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.
The holiday, which falls on a Saturday on both days, does not affect regularly scheduled garbage and recycling collection, the city announced. The city noted that yard-waste collection remains suspended until the spring.
The closing of City Hall also means there will be free parking at the downtown city deck on Ottawa Street both Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. Also, meter enforcement will be suspended for downtown street parking on both days.
