Expect that brief thunderstorm that came through parts of Will County early Monday afternoon to be repeated off and on throughout the day and into the evening.
And then a bit of rinse and repeat on Tuesday, too.
Brian Leatherwood, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Romeoville, said a short line of thunderstorms and showers are moving through Will County Monday into Tuesday.
The first on Monday afternoon brought winds of 30 to 35 miles per hour and a second could follow shortly after that one, Leatherwood said, with waves of additional short storms to the southwest, he added.
“We might be dealing with off and on showers and thunderstorms until early evening and then some rain showers in the evening,” Leatherwood said. “And then we’ll probably repeat it tomorrow.”
Leatherwood said Will County might see more thunderstorms mid to late morning on Tuesday and then into the early to late afternoon.
“We’ll just have to keep an eye on it,” Leatherwood said.
Will County should also expect some intermittent thunderstorms into Wednesday. The cause is an unstable air mass caused by heat and moisture, Leatherwood said.
But a cold front on Wednesday might move some of the heat and moist air out of the area. Will County might have some rain showers on Thursday, but the severe weather should end by then, Leatherwood said.
“Friday’s looking pretty good,” Leatherwood said.
