Community members and stakeholders are invited to offer input regarding a watershed-based plan for the Fiddyment Creek, Milne Creek, and Fraction Run watershed, according to a news release from Hampton Lenzini and Renwick Inc. in Chicago, the company selected to lead the coordination and development of the watershed plan.
The city of Lockport was recently awarded a Section 319 grant for the development of a watershed-based plan, the release said. The project is sponsored by Lockport and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
A public informational meeting will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 24 at Lockport Public Works, located at 17112 Prime Blvd. in Lockport.
In addition, stakeholders are asked to fill out a survey about the plan at https://arcg.is/rSSbX. The survey is also available at “libraries and municipal buildings within the watershed,” the release said.
Filling out the survey will help identify any problem areas within the watershed, “such as flooding, erosion, habitat, recreation and water quality,” the release said.
