Plainfield residents may see stepped up police traffic enforcement ahead of and during the Labor Day holiday.
The Plainfield Police Department is participating in statewide campaigns to stop impaired driving and getting motorists to wear their seat belts to help save lives, according to a news release.
The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click it or Ticket” enforcement campaigns are running late this month through Sept. 7. During this period, motorists in Plainfield can expect to see impaired driving patrols and seat belt enforcement, particularly at night.
Speeders and distracted drivers should also be aware, according to the release.
The Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
