Are Will County schools heading back to remote learning?

Students at Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 returned to in-person learning Monday after four days of remote learning last week due to COVID-related staffing issues.

However, the district’s Facebook page on Friday said the district still has a shortage of bus drivers. So one building each day will go without bus service this week.

“We will evaluate the need for additional changes as we move through the week,” the district’s post said.

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 is in a similar situation. Friday was a day of non-attendance for students and staff at District 202 due to logistical transportation and staffing issues with the rise in COVID-related cases.

District 202 called off school again on Monday for the same reasons. District 202 students will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, the district’s Facebook page said on Monday.

Joliet Township High School District 204 also said discussed its staffing concerns on its Facebook page on Friday. District 204 said to expect late buses as it returned to in-person learning this week and suggested parents arrange their own transportation, if possible.

District 204 said it was also monitoring its staffing each day but that a return to remote learning at some point could happen.

Joliet Public Schools District 86 is currently holding in-person learning, according to Sandra Zalewski, District 86′s director for communications and development.

“We do have some staff and transportation issues, but we are working around it right now,” Zalewski said.

Valley View Community Unit School District 365U canceled several bus routes on Friday.
