$1 million Lotto ticket sold at Bolingbrook liquor store

For the third time in two weeks an Illinois Lotto layer has won $1 million – but the winner hasn’t claimed the prize yet, according to a news release from the Illinois Lotto.

However, Dashank Desai, who with his parents owns Stop 24 Liquors in Bolingbrook, where the ticket was purchased, said in the release that he knows the winner.

“The customer was in our store this morning when an Illinois Lottery representative informed us that we sold a $1 million winning Lotto ticket,” Desai said in the release. “The customer then called someone on the phone, read out loud the winning Lotto numbers, and then blurted out that they matched all the numbers.”

The winning Lotto ticket matched all six Lotto Million 1 numbers in Thursday’s drawing: 26-29-33-41-44-50, the release said.

The retailer will receive a bonus 1% of the prize amount, which is $10,000. Desai said in the release the money will go into the family business and toward something special for the store employees.

Desai said in the release that he has sold several winning Lottery tickets over the years but that “this one was the largest jackpot” and that “it’s extra special when it’s someone you know.”

“We’ve been in business at this location for over 21 years so we are very excited that a regular customer from our own neighborhood won the million dollar prize,” Desai said.
