Chicken-N-Spice coming to New Lenox in 2022

The new restaurant will be built along Route 30

Another Chicken-N-Spice location will open in New Lenox next year, the village announced.

The village said in a Facebook post this week that the new building will be built on a parcel of land along Route 30 between a Taco Bell and BMO Harris Bank near the intersection with Veterans Parkway.

Construction is expected to start next summer. New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann said there is going to be more development in the area the future restaurant will be built.

Baldermann said the Chicken-N-Spice company knows the community and the local brand is quite popular among residents.

“It’s nice to see these family-owned businesses,” Baldermann said.

The New Lenox location will be the company’s third along with those in Shorewood and Orland Hills.

Earlier this year, the original Chicken-N-Spice location in downtown Joliet closed. Former owners Ken and Pat Reimer were recognized for their retirement from running the restaurant they brought to Joliet in 1981.

The company is well known for its trademark Chicken Chunks.
