Lane changes and ramp closures on Joliet and New Lennox began on Monday as construction workers prepare for improvements to the roads.

The Plainfield Fire Protection District responded to a fire at a vacant restaurant in the 24500 block of Lockport Street on Monday.

Beginning Wednesday, a portion of the Rock Run Greenway Trail in Joliet is scheduled to close for several months.
