A fight at the Will County Adult Detention Center left one inmate hospitalized after he was beaten with a sock full of soap.

The pre-trial detention hearing for Alexa Balen, the Homer Glen woman accused of child endangerment after the death of her 2-year-old daughter, has been postponed to give Balen more time to find an attorney.

Homeowners and renters in Will County who suffered damage or loss from the July 13-16 severe storms now have until Dec. 13 to apply for disaster relief with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
