5 Things to Do: Santa’s Rock-N-Lights, Cocoa With Santa and more in Kane County

Some of the displays for the Santa’s Rock-N-Lights, which will be a drive-thru light display in the parking area of Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva. Santa’s Rock-N-Lights opens Nov. 22 and runs through Dec. 31.

Here are five things to do in Kane County:

1. Santa’s Rock-N-Lights: Starting at 5 p.m. daily through Dec. 31, there will be a Christmas drive-thru light show at Northwestern Medicine Field, located at 34W002 Cherry Lane in Geneva. Santa’s Rock-N-Lights includes over one-mile of lights synchronized to music. It is Chicago’s longest running drive-thru light show. There are color-changing lights, large light sculptures and traditional lights. Sculptures include dinosaurs, reindeer, polar bears and more. There are also giant emojis and a Christmas tree from the future. Tickets can only be purchased online and are priced between $29.99 to $36.99 for a vehicle with up to six people. There is an extra $6.99 charge for an extra person over six people. A processing fee will apply. There are limited spots available for each time slot. 2. Cocoa With Santa: From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, Santa will be available for children to have hot cocoa with at The Tea Tree, located at 29 N. River St. in Batavia. 3. “A Christmas Carol” – A Theatrical Performance Presented by GreatWorks Theatre Company: GreatWorks Theatre Company will present a modern interpretation of Charles Dickens’ holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol,” at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Arcada Theatre, located at 105 E. Main St. in St. Charles. The theatrical theme of the performance will remain the same, but a modern twist will be included. This event is for all ages. Tickets are $10. 4. Open Studio at Pinot’s Palette: From 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, there will be an Open Studio event at Pinot’s Palette, located at 3823 E. Main St. in St. Charles. This event is aimed to provide unstructured fun and promote creativity, whether that be individually or in a group. Attendees will receive an 8-inch-by-10-inch canvas, written instructions on the specific painting they’d like to create and all necessary supplies. Those wanting to work on different mediums will have the opportunity to do so, but no instructions will be provided. This event is $20 per guest. 5. A New Year’s “Eve Eve” Cooking Celebration: Starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, there will be a virtual cooking class in honor of New Year’s “Eve Eve,” hosted by the St. Charles Public Library. Cooking instructor Kristyn Slick will teach attendees how to cook festive meals in their own kitchens. Attendees will receive a Zoom link and recipes ahead of the class in order to purchase ingredients and any needed equipment.
