5 Things to Do: Free Community Supper, Kane County Home and Garden Show and more in Kane County

Here are five things to do in Kane County:

1. Free Community Supper: From 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, there will be a Free Community Supper at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia. Free meals will be prepared and cooked at Bethany for community members to enjoy. Dinner will include a main course, vegetables, a side dish, the church’s famous sundae bar and baked goods. Carryout dinners will be available. Free community meals take place on the last Friday of the month. 2. Hot Cocoa Cane: From 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, there will be a painting event at Pinot’s Palette, located at 3823 E. Main St. in St. Charles. The class will teach attendees how to paint a steaming cup of hot cocoa. The class is $42 per guest. Drinks are not included in the event price. No alcohol can be brought into the studio, but nonalcoholic beverages and food are allowed. Attendees must be 8 years old or older. Any attendees younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 3. Team Trivia: From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, there will be Team Trivia at Sidecar Supper Club & Beer Garden, located at 12 N. River St. in Batavia. Go 4 It Entertainment will feature six rounds of general trivia with musical hints and toss up questions. There will be tasty prizes. This is a free event that takes place every Thursday. 4. Scott Smith’s All Animal Expo: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Scott Smith’s All Animal Expo will take place at the Kane County Fairgrounds, located at 525 S. Randall Road in St. Charles. There will be reptiles, small exotics, birds, fish, puppies, kittens, suppliers, feeders and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to buy animals and meet other animal enthusiasts. This show is open twice a month. The next show will take place Sunday, Jan. 26. 5. Kane County Home and Garden Show: From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 25 and 26, the Home and Garden Show will take place in the Prairie Events Center at the Kane County Fairgrounds, located at 525 S. Randall Road in St. Charles. There will be more than 150 businesses on-site to help attendees with home improvements and renovations. There will be free admission and parking.
