Here are five things to do this weekend and in upcoming weekends.
Celebration of Lights: About 400 festive light displays are showcased for the public to enjoy at Rotary Park at 2845 E. Fifth Road in La Salle. The Celebration of Lights display will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. until Jan. 1. The attraction is free, but donations are welcome. Visitors can listen to holiday songs on the Christmas Station, 106.1 FM. It is the exclusive Christmas station for La Salle’s Celebration of Lights at Rotary Park.
Stuffed animal sleepover: A stuffed animal sleepover is planned Friday at Streator Public Library. Children are encouraged to drop off their animal friend from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday to have an adventure at the library, 130 S. Park St. Share a story and make a craft with them before leaving them for a sleepover at the library. Tune in online to see their adventures. Pick up stuffed animals from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, as well as take part in a craft and photo.
Fifth Frame Lounge Comedy Night: Illinois Valley Super Bowl, 4242 Mahoney Drive, Peru, will host a comedy doubleheader beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, featuring Bill Gorgo and Bill Brady. Doors open at 7 p.m. The cost is $18. There is a $2 discount if the ticket is purchased before Friday. Call 815-223-5085 for more information.
Killer of Giants: The Ozzy Osbourne tribute band will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday at Shakers Lounge, 121 W. Stevenson Road, Ottawa. Live Music from the Tasting Room: Lojo Russo will perform live music from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the August Hill Winery, 106 Mill St., Utica.
