5 Things to Do: Family Bingo Night, $15 Haircuts and more in Kendall County

Here are five things to do in Kendall County:

1. Adult Pottery Wheel Workshop: From 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 4, there will be an Adult Pottery Wheel Workshop at Arts on Fire Studio, located at 217 E. South St. in Plano. This event is designed to teach adults to make two useful pottery pieces while learning the art of wheel throwing. Attendees can create pieces such as a bowl and cup. Participants will be guided by an instructor, and they will learn the fundamentals of centering, pulling and shaping clay on the spinning wheel. Pieces will need two weeks to dry in the studio before they can be painted. This workshop is for all skill levels and is open to ages 14 and up. 2. Emoji Jar: From 3 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, there will be an Emoji Jar event in the Youth Program Room at the Oswego Public Library’s Montgomery Campus, located at 1111 Reading Drive. Patrons in grades third to fifth will be able to paint a jar and add their favorite emoji. There will be an Emoji Jar Jr. event from 2 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, for children in kindergarten to second grade. Registration for the events closes at 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3. 3. Family Bingo Night: At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, there will be a Family Bingo Night at Pinz Entertainment Center, located at 1211 N. Bridge St. in Yorkville. There will be 10 games of Bingo with prizes for adults and kids, as well as a third game featuring gift cards and a seventh game featuring cash prizes. The 10th game will be a black out round worth a possible $500. Attendees must be present by the sixth game to participate in the 10th. A purchase is required to win prizes. There will be $7.99 classic burgers, $10.99 specialty burgers, $3 ice cream floats, $5 donut towers, $3 domestic drafts, $11 domestic pitchers and $6 flavored Long Islands. 4. Upcycled Jeans Bag: From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, there will be an Upcycled Jeans Bag art class at 26 W. Van Buren St. in Oswego. This class is for ages 13 and up, and it will be led by RaeEtta Yen. Attendees need to bring one pair of jeans, one spool of all-purpose thread in color of choice and one yard of cotton print or solid fabric for the lining and details.
