Here are five things to do in Kane County:
1. Indoor Market: From 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 4, the Indoor Market will take place at Grainology Brewstillery, located at 131 Flinn St., Suite C, in Batavia. There will be fresh greens, gourmet mushrooms, meats, eggs, baked goods, hot sauces, honey and more. Vendors must grow/produce at least 75% of marketed products. 2. Rustic Winter Barn: From 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, there will be a painting event at Pinot’s Palette, located at 3823 E. Main St. in St. Charles. Attendees will paint a rustic winter barn and have the opportunity to buy wine to paint and sip. This is a no-experience painting class directed by local artists who will guide attendees. 3. Sticker Swap Party: From 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, there will be a Sticker Swap Party at Red Hive Market, located at 6 W. Wilson St. in Batavia. Attendees will have the opportunity to swap, share and show off their sticker collections. Stickers can be any shape or size as long as they’re family-friendly. This is a bring one, take one event. 4. Yarn Art Social Circle: From 4 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, there will be a Yarn Art Social Circle at Creek Bend Nature Center, located at 37W700 Dean St. in St. Charles. Naturalist Erica Lemon will lead the monthly conversation while attendees participate in yarn art. Attendees should bring their own knit, crochet or other projects to work on. Tips and patterns can be shared among participants. The event is for yarn crafters of all skill levels. 5. Celebrating the Lunar New Year: From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, there will be a Lunar New Year celebration in the Meeting Room of the Geneva Public Library District, located at 227 S. Seventh St. in Geneva. Educator Yvonne Liu Wolf will introduce the rites, activities, symbols and foods associated with this occasion. She also will discuss how it can be celebrated at home.
