“Waves of Japan: Night of Drums and Dreams” benefit gala will be at the McAninch Arts Center on the campus of College of DuPage from 4-9 p.m. Feb. 23.
The event is hosted by College of DuPage Foundation, in support of the McAninch Arts Center and the Cleve Carney Museum of Art.
The evening will begin with a cocktail reception at 4 p.m. in the MAC lobby, followed by dinner and a 7 p.m. performance by Yamato: The Drummers of Japan on the Belushi Performance Hall stage.
This powerhouse performance featuring more than 40 taiko drums will channel the heartbeat and spirit of Yamato’s homeland in a truly spectacular show, according to a news release.
The evening will also include tempting silent auctions for travel opportunities, golf, dining and one-of-a-kind experiences.
Tickets are $200-$250. A portion of the gala ticket price is a donation to the College of DuPage Foundation Major Exhibition Fund and will be dedicated to presenting summer 2025 exhibition, “Hokusai and Ukiyo-e: The Floating World, Artworks from the Chiossone Collection.”
