Here are five things to do in Kane County:
1. UFO: From 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, there will be a UFO painting event at Pinot’s Palette, located at 3823 E. Main St. in St. Charles. Whether attendees believe in aliens, this is a fun painting to create and it glows in black light. This is a paint-and-sip experience, so attendees 21 and older will have the opportunity to buy wine. All experience levels are welcome. All supplies will be included. The class will be directed by trained local artists. The class is $45 a guest. 2. Preschool Fair: From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 18, there will be a Preschool Fair at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave. There will be representatives from local preschools and child care centers on-site. Parents will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the care centers. 3. One Stein at a Time: Oktoberfest 2025 Information Meeting: From 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, there will be an informational meeting on Oktoberfest 2025 at Sturdy Shelter Brewing, 10 S. 4. Wilson River Band Performance: From 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, the Wilson River Band will perform at Water Street Studios, 160 S. Water St. in Batavia. The band is made up of six individuals. They play music from the late 1950s to modern day. Their concentrations are from the 1960s through the 1980s. They cover classic rock, pop and country. This is the band’s second time playing at the studio and they use their performance as a fundraiser to expand ceramic offerings. Tickets are $20. Advance purchase is recommended. 5. Music Makers Craft: From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, there will be a musical craft event in the Meeting Room of the Geneva Public Library District, 227 S. Seventh St. The group is called the Music Makers and they make musical instruments out of craft supplies. Some supplies will be available to make instruments.
