‘The Best of Second City’ coming to College of DuPage Valentine’s Day weekend

The Second City's Julia Morales, Rob Wilson, Andrew Bolduc, Jenelle Cheyne. The Second City will present "The Best of Second City" at the McAninch Arts Center on Feb. 15, 2025.

The Second City returns to the McAninch Arts Center on the College of DuPage campus with the irreverently funny “The Best of The Second City,” Saturday, Feb. 15 at 5 and 8 p.m.

The comedy show offers quick-witted sketches, comedy songs and hilarious improv from The Second City’s comedy vaults, updated for the modern era, according to a news release.

The Second City is currently celebrating 65 years delivering innovative, fast-paced satirical comedy with this fresh take on festive fun. The comedy troupe opened its doors in 1959 in a small cabaret theater. Co-founded by Paul Sills, Howard Alk and Bernie Sahlins, The Second City has grown to become one of the most influential and prolific comedy empires in the word, developing an entirely unique way of creating art and fostering generations of comedy personalities. Some of the best-known Second City alumni include Alan Arkin, Joan Rivers, Ed Asner, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carrell and Tina Fey.

The Second City has been awarded nearly 50 Jeff Awards, recognizing theater excellence and honoring the company’s comedians.

McAninch Arts Center is located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage.
