5 Things to Do: Winter Warm-Up Makers Market, Junior Dragstrip Day and more in Kendall County

Here are five things to do in Kendall County:

1. Silent Disco: From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, there will be a Silent Disco at The Law Office Pub and Music Hall, located at 226 S. Bridge St. in Yorkville. There will be three DJs playing live music, and attendees will have the opportunity to pick the channel. This is the first Silent Disco of the year. 2. Junior Dragstrip Day: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, there will be a Junior Dragstrip Day at the Little White School Museum, located at 72 Polk St. in Oswego. Children will create their own miniature racecar and race it on the museum’s race track. Participants will walk away with their own wooden vehicle and a participation medal. This event is $12 for residents and $15 for nonresidents. All ages are welcome, and an adult must accompany their child. Registration is required. 3. Theme Book Boxes: From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, there will be Theme Book Boxes available in the Youth Program Room at the Oswego Public Library’s Montgomery Campus, located at 1111 Reading Drive. Librarians will put together a book box, containing three books and other surprises. Each month, a new theme is chosen. Books will be checked out to participants’ library cards. The theme for January is Icy Adventures, and the theme for February is Arts and Crafts. This is for students in grades third through fifth. 4. Winter Warm-Up Makers Market: From noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, there will be a Winter Warm-Up Makers Market at Fox Republic Brewing Co., located at 101 W. Hydraulic St. in Yorkville. Event contributors also include Foxes Den Meadery and Curated Collections Events. There will be more than 20 vendors inside the venue, as well as food from the Cooking With Flavor pop-up. 5. Oswegoland Fishin’ Fools: From 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3, the Oswegoland Fishin’ Fools club will meet at Allied First Bank, located at 3201 Orchard Road in Oswego. This club is a multi-species fishing club for those with or without boats. This club meets on the first Monday of the month.
