Here are five things to do in Kendall County:
1. Yoga with Jen: From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, there will be certified instructor Jen Penn will lead yoga at the Plano Community Library District, located at 15 W. North St. This is a weekly event, and each week incorporates breath, movement and relaxation. Attendees can bring their own mat or use one of the library’s. 2. Playful Pizza Party: From 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, there will be a Playful Pizza Party for ages 3 to 5 in the Youth Program Room of the Oswego Public Library’s Montgomery Campus, located at 1111 Reading Drive. The library will celebrate National Pizza Day with a pizza party. There will be stories, imaginative play and crafts. Please note that all pizza will be pretend—no real food will be served. 3. American English - Beatles Tribute Band: At 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, American English, a Beatles Tribute Band, will play at the Sandwich Opera House, located at 140 E. Railroad St. The band will take listeners through The Beatles’ different eras, starting from classic Beatles songs, going through their psychedelic era and finishing with their final era. 4. Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Dinner: At 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Membership Dinner at Whitetail Ridge Golf Club, located at 7671 Clubhouse Drive in Yorkville. The theme is A Masquerade Affair, so attendees are encouraged to wear mysterious masks. Registration begins at 5 p.m., and a cash bar will be featured. At 6:30 p.m., dinner will begin, and attendees will have a choice between filet mignon, chicken piccata or quinoa stuffed peppers. The program and awards begin at 7 p.m. This event is for all member businesses, their staff and guests. Tickets are $70 per person, and attendees must RSVP by Feb. 14. 5. Sankalpa Fest 2025 with Sense of Samadhi Yoga: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, Sankalpa Fest will take place at Grace Holistic Center for Education, located at 201 Garden St. in Yorkville. This event features hands-on workshops, yoga and engaging classes. Every hour, there is a new session for attendees to attend. Lunch is included, and a sound healing will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. There will also be vendors on site for participants to purchase from, such as Air Sign Oils, Pigment AI Art and Natural Collective crystals. Participants can also sign up for a session for Reiki, acupuncture, henna or a tarot card reading. Extra fees apply. A full day pass is $111, a morning pass is $60 and an afternoon pass is $60.
