RISE Up Festival is now the McHenry Music Festival, which announced Monday some of the acts set for the September concerts.

Plans are well underway for July's Fiesta Days festival in McHenry, though one City Council member, who is running for mayor, voted against city permits for the chamber event.

Woodstock Willie doe not see his shadow when he emerged on Woodstock Square early Sunday, meaning an early spring according to Groundhog Day lore.

The weather is expected to be relatively balmy but somewhat windy for Woodstock Willie's big Groundhog Day reveal Sunday. This year's festivities include the local debut of the musical take on the locally shot film.

Snow carvers have started carving their 15 massive snow sculptures on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, for America’s Snow Sculpting Invitational during Winterfest in Lake Geneva. Winterfest, runs through Feb, 2, 2025. The warm and rainy weather has slowed down the carving of the snow.

PrairieFest will take place from June 12-15 at PrairieFest Park, 91 Plank Drive in Oswego.

Downtown Oglesby will be a festive place Saturday as the city hosts its annual holiday festival.

Area residents, businesses or organizations are invited to participate in a lighted Snowman Parade at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, as part of “There’s Snow Place Like Ladd” 2024 Ladd Christmas Walk.

The magic of the season begins with three days of festivities from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
