Crystal Lake Central built what felt like a comfortable lead early, but Wauconda overtook the Tigers in the third quarter to win the Northern Illinois Holiday Classic title hosted by McHenry. Ruby Macke led Central with a game-high 28 points.

Rileigh Gaddini's 23 points led Alden-Hebron's girls basketball team to a 57-15 win over Hiawatha on Thursday night, while Prairie Ridge's wrestlers pinned a loss on Burlington Central.
