Dolores Ann 'Dee' Duffy

1935-2018

SHERIDAN — Dolores Ann "Dee" Duffy, 83, of Sheridan, passed away Monday, June 4, at Ottawa Pavilion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at St. Patrick's Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Ottawa Funeral Home, with the rosary at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Dee was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Ottawa, to Charles and Catherine (Engel) Hellman Sr. She married Hugh "Jim" Duffy on Sept. 12, 1959; he passed away July 22, 2005.

Dee was a happy farmer's wife who simply enjoyed life. She cared deeply for her family and loved her dogs, especially her granddog, Foster. Dee enjoyed traveling, cooking and playing bingo and euchre.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a past president of the Sheridan American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Catherine (Donald) Kohler, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jim (Judy) Duffy, of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Nicole, Erica and Caitlin Kohler; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tia and Kiera; one sister, Lavina Hellman; five nieces and nephews, Johnny Duffy, Anne Brignon, Terry Duffy, Kevin Krofft and Debra Krofft; and many great-nieces and nephews and special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two siblings, Charles Hellman Jr. and Mary Catherine Krofft.

Pallbearers will be Terry Duffy, Gilbert Petre, Don Petre, Ed Goetsch, Josh Wozniak and Gerry Glover.

Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Patrick's Church.
