Marla spent many years working at High School football and basketball games.

Marla enjoyed several hobbies over the years. She and her husband, Wally, bowled in leagues at Bowl-Mor Lanes. She enjoyed her summers off from school and took full advantage of the warm weather while she would keep her pool crystal clear and her yard always perfectly manicured. She enjoyed planting flowers and kept a house full of beautiful greenery (house plants).

Marla loved watching her two boys grow up into handsome young men. She never missed a sporting event over 20 years. She loved to watch golf, football, baseball, basketball and soccer games. She was always one of the last moms in the bleachers.

She loved hosting family dinners such as Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She and her friends loved to travel to near and far towns looking for fun knickknacks to add to her home décor. She also looked forward to her cousin’s vacation every year. She also loved her pets over the years, Duke, Buddy and Bo.

She was a member of Faith Assembly of God church in Peru. She was a former member of the Streator High School Mom’s Club for football.
