Terry McCormick

SHERIDAN — Terry McCormick, 73, of Sheridan, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 13, at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Camp Tuckabatchee, 1973 N. 35th Road, Ottawa, IL 61350, with military honors following at 12:15 p.m.

Terry was born June 11, 1944, to Clarence and Eileen (Fenton) McCormick. He married Sheila Woodward on Oct. 7, 1978. She survives in Sheridan.

He graduated from Southern Illinois University. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving from 1969 to 1971.

He retired in 2012 after 40 years from La Salle County Parks. He was a member of LASCART and La Salle County Posse.

He also is survived by his two children, Kaitlin Anne McCormick, of Littleton, Colo., and Michael Joseph McCormick, of Aurora; two sisters, Gail Guilfoile, of Denver, Colo., and Karen (Don) Norton, of Chicago; a brother, William McCormick, of Sheboygan, Wis.; and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Renda McCormick; and nephews, Michael Norton and Mark McCormick.
