Floyd L. Peck

1924-2018

STREATOR — Floyd L. Peck, 93, of Streator, passed away Tuesday morning, July 3, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 7, at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery with flag folding conducted by members of Streator American Legion and VFW.

Floyd was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Chenoa Township, to John and Hazel (Armitage) Peck. He married Clarice Bailey on Sept. 23, 1951. She passed away Aug. 19, 2006.

Surviving is his daughter, Debra Skoflance, of Ottawa; son, Gregory (Phyllis) Peck, of Streator; and grandson, Henry Skoflance, of Klamath Falls, Ore.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son-in-law, Christopher Skoflance; and sisters, Betty Harjes and Carrie Rabe.

He attended Lexington Grade School and graduated from Lexington High School in 1941.

Floyd served in the US Army during WWII as a Corporal and retired from Owens-Illinois Glass after 39 years in March of 1987.

He was a lifetime member of the Streator VFW Post 1492 and was also a member of the Golden Emblem Club and The Rail Splitters Society 84th Division.
