Dorothy (Anderson) Mazza

OTTAWA — Dorothy (Anderson) Mazza, 99, of Ottawa, died Tuesday, July 24, at Aperion Care in Spring Valley.

Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 28, in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa with Deacon Rex Hanson, of Christ Episcopal Church, officiating.

Dorothy was born May 28, 1919, in La Salle, to Wilbert and Margaret (Myer) Anderson. She was a 1937 graduate of La Salle-Peru High School.

She worked for 42 years at LOF until her retirement in 1977. She married Salvatore Mazza on April 11, 1947, in Ottawa. Dorothy was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, AARP, Glassworkers Local 19 and Ottawa Moose Lodge.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Meredith Mazza, of Utica; three grandchildren, Jennifer Mazza, of Flower Mound, Texas, Lesley (Scott) Lee, of Allen, Texas, and Gregory Mazza, of Utica; and three great-grandchildren, Sydney Lee, Jordan Lee and Morgan Mazza.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 24, 2005; and her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Mazza.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Episcopal Church.
