STREATOR — Judith A. Downey, 76, of Streator, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Hagi & Baker Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. John Gutz, of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Emery Green Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chris Downey, Chad Bradley, Matt Clemens, Dustin Allison, Jordan Allison and Zachary McStoots.
She was born Sept. 17, 1941, in Streator, to Joseph and Cecilia (Fairbanks) Brooke. She married Robert E. “Beaver” Downey Sr. on July 9, 1960, in Streator. He preceded her in death Oct. 14, 2016.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Karen) Downey Jr., of Streator, Tammy (Michael) Bradley, of Streator, and Dawn (Donald Jr.) Allison, of Dalzell, S.C.; grandchildren, Christopher (Katherine) Downey, Chad (Rachel) Bradley, Dustin Allison, Michelle (Garrett) Mauzy, Amber (Matthew) Clemens, Jordan (Brittany) Allison and Jessica (Zachariah) McStoots; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty Hannula, of Wisconsin, Diane Miller, of Streator, Bonnie Theisinger, of Streator, and Charles Theisinger, of Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, James and Joseph Brooke; and a sister, Elsie Hill.
She attended Streator High School and had worked at Paris Garter Factory, as a waitress at numerous restaurants and retired from Imperial Home Décor Wallpaper Factory.
She formerly belonged to the Moose Family Center and Streator Eagles Aerie 645.
Judy loved to camp with family and friends and was an avid bingo player.
