LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Stephen "Sheik" Harold Pellino, 69, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14.
Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at St. Columba Church with the Rev. Bruno officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.
Steve was born June 21, 1949, in Ottawa, to Gerald "Dick" Nicholas and Frances Marie (Flamm) Pellino. He married Phyllis Funk on April 3, 1971, at St. Columba Church in Ottawa.
Steve graduated from Marquette High School, then served in the United States Army Reserves. He then worked as an ironworker for Local 386 and Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Marquette Go Club and American Legion.
Steve coached St. Columba basketball and youth football.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; two children, Stephen N. Pellino and Sarah Jane Pellino; four grandchildren, Christian and Brodey Warren and Tyler and Ella Pellino; and one sister, Mary Jane (Sam) Moreno.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Nancy (Jim) Fewell.
Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor's choice.
