Four members of the Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa chapter of Job’s Daughters International were honored in June at the Grand Session of Job’s Daughters International in Illinois.
During the event at Embassy Suites and Conference Center in East Peoria, Katie Pratt was elected and installed as 2018 to 2019 Grand Bethel Honored Queen (Youth President) of Job’s Daughters International in Illinois; Maddie Pratt competed in and was crowned as Miss Illinois Job’s Daughter; Anna Moore was selected and installed as Honorary State Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters International in Illinois; and Amanda Fernandez was named Most Outstanding Job’s Daughter.
Katie Pratt, 20, is the daughter of Rusty and Jamie (Seibert) Pratt, of Ottawa. She is in her third year at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., where she is majoring in history with an emphasis on pre-law. She is a 2016 graduate of Ottawa High School. She is a Past Honored Queen of Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa and Bethel No. 48 of Joliet; a Past Junior Miss Illinois Job’s Daughter; a Past Honorary State Honored Queen for Illinois Job’s Daughters; a Past Chapter Sweetheart for Round Table Chapter, Order of DeMolay, of Ottawa; a member of the Round Table Chapter DeMolay Sorority; Majority Member of Camelot Assembly No. 96 of Peru, of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls; and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa. She is the first Grand Bethel Honored Queen from Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa in its 82-year history.
Maddie Pratt, 17, is also the daughter of Rusty and Jamie (Seibert) Pratt, of Ottawa. She is a senior at Ottawa High School. She is a Past Honored Queen of Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa and a Past Chairman of Grand Representatives for Illinois Job’s Daughters. She is a member of the Round Table Chapter DeMolay Sorority; a member of Camelot Assembly No. 96 of Peru, of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls; OHS Varsity Cheer Squad; and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa. She is the first Miss Illinois Job’s Daughter from Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa in its 82-year history.
Moore, 16, is the daughter of Charles and Elissa (Sistek) Moore, of Mazon. She is home-schooled. In addition to being a member of Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa, she is a member of Bethel No. 48 of Joliet where she serves as Marshal. She is the third Honorary State Honored Queen from Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa.
Fernandez, 15, is the daughter of Robert and Michelle Fernandez, of Marseilles. She is a freshman at Ottawa High School. She is a Past Honored Queen of Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa and a dual member of Bethel No. 57 of Fulton, where she is Bethel’s Honored Queen pro-tem. She is active in the OHS band.
Job’s Daughters is an organization for girls ages 10 to 20. It stresses the importance of education, family, being active in one’s community and of the necessity of God in one’s daily life.
Job’s Daughters provides opportunities for its members to grow and learn in a safe environment. Members develop leadership and organizational skills; build self-confidence and learn to be comfortable with public speaking. It encourages academic growth by awarding scholarships for post-high school education on both a state and international level.
Chartered in 1936, Bethel No. 52 of Ottawa meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of each month at Ottawa Masonic Lodge.
