University of Illinois Agricultural Education program has placed student teacher Adam Rosentreter with Jeff Maierhofer and Kent Weber, agricultural science instructors at Seneca High School, from January through April. He will teach agriculture courses, assist with coaching and advising students for FFA events and attend FFA conferences.
Gary Ochs, adviser to student teachers in the program says, “The student teaching experience is the capstone for the undergraduate education program. Student teaching with high school agriculture teachers like Maierhofer and Weber becomes an extension of the University of Illinois Agricultural Education Program.”
The program prepares students for careers that help develop other people, organizations and communities to solve real-world problems. Graduates work with people in a variety of settings from high school classrooms to corporate-office training to workshop facilitation.
