NOKOMIS —Myrtle Marie McCaslin, 105, of Nokomis, passed away at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Nokomis.
She was born July 8, 1913, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Sherman Henry and Ida Bell (Revis) Sanders. She married Earnie McCaslin on Oct. 12, 1930, and he preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1972.
Surviving is her son, Randy McCaslin, of Nokomis; daughters, Connie (Ronald) Hughes, of Sheridan, and Vivian Eileen Hill, of Nokomis; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Marcia Alexander, Lois McCaslin and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Leroy McCaslin; daughter, Shirley Hartman; grandson, Michael Dale Hill; brothers, Luther Sanders, Harold Sanders, Carl, Vester and Gene Sanders; sisters, Pearl, Genevieve and Margaret; daughter-in-law, Josephine McCaslin; and sons-in-law, Dale Hill, Larry Hartman, and Prosper Guyot.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Sutton Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Ryan Follis officiating. Burial will be in Nokomis Cemetery in Nokomis.
