STREATOR — William “Billy” E. Mitchell, 72, of Streator, passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, at Continental Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Chicago.
Following cremation there will be no services. Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Billy was born June 19, 1946, in Streator, to William and Edith (Warwick) Mitchell.
Surviving is his mother, Edith Baker, of Streator; brothers, Glenn (Sandra) Baker, of Streator, and Clyde (Susan) Baker, of Streator; sisters, Barbara (David) Sloan, Pamela Baker, Margery (Thomas) Wissen, Janet (Roberto) Arevalo and Penelope Baker, all of Streator; nine nieces and nephews; and 27 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Walter Baker; sister, Marilyn Baker; and brother, Richard Baker.
Billy graduated from Streator High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, was formerly employed at Caterpillar in Mossville and was of the Baptist faith.
Memorials may be made in his name to Fisher House through the Veterans Administration.
