Attempted murder charge added in Leland stabbing

Legal trouble worsened Tuesday for a Louisiana man charged with a stabbing last summer at a La Salle County campground.

Jonathan T. Hebert, 40, Houma, La., was charged in August with aggravated domestic battery. The La Salle County Sheriff's Office said Hebert stabbed his girlfriend several times Aug. 26 at High Tide Campground in rural Leland. On Tuesday, the county grand jury indicted him on a more serious charge of attempted murder. The girlfriend was also from Houma.

Hebert remains in the county jail.
