Sharon A. Doerr

1938-2018

UTICA — Sharon Ann Doerr, 80, of Utica, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at her home after an extended illness.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. Mary’s Church in Utica with the Rev. Michael Driscoll officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Burgess Funeral Home in Utica with the rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. and also visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.

She was born June 19, 1938, in Ottawa, to Stanley and Ruth (Vandervoort) Liedtka. She married Leo Doerr on Sept. 18, 1958, at St. Columba Church in Ottawa.

Sharon was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a staple at St. Patrick’s Day, fun-loving, kind to everyone and a friend to all. She loved baking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her many, many friends.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, choir and Altar and Rosary Society, a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, Utica Firemen's Matches, Utica Garden Club, Red Hats, Junior Women’s Club and room mother.

She is survived by husband, Leo, in Utica; three daughters, Susan (Bob) Cheslic, of Peru, Mary K. (David) Dykeman, of Katy, Texas, and Lisa (Steve) Bartz, of Redford, Mich.; two sons, Mike (Angelia) Doerr, of Utica, and Edward (Donna) Doerr, of Spring, Texas; seven grandchildren, Lew, Becky, Addison, Brittany, Noah, Tim and Tiffany; 16 great-grandchildren, Nick, Austin, Nate, Riley, Reece, Regan, Bailee, Gabriel, Alora, Bella, Lexi, Autumn, Ryker, Ceara, Alo and Antonio; and two sisters, Margaret Hamm and Elizabeth Liedtka.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Liedtka; sister, Mary Hill; and grandson, Andrew Doerr.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
