William Levon Clemens, 80, of Newark, formerly of Sheridan, passed at his home on Sunday afternoon, April 14, 2019.
Bill was born August 19, 1938 in LaPorte, Indiana to Curtis Levon and Josephine (Jablonski) Clemens. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1955 – 1959 and had been stationed in Alaska as an air traffic controller. On February 1, 1960 he was joined in marriage to Armilene Harville. He had worked 51 years as an operating engineer with Local #150 and had served more then 15 years as a Sheridan Village Board Trustee. He was a member of A.F& A.M. Meteor Lodge #283 in Sandwich and had been a member of the United Auto Racing Association.
Bill is survived by his wife, Armilene of Newark; his daughter, Melissa (Dennis) Morsch of Newark; four grandchildren, Amber (Nick) Wills of Newark, Dennis (Ashley) Morsch of Newark, Samuel Clemens of Sandwich, Shelby Clemens of Plano; five great-grandchildren, Payton Wills, Tenley Wills, McKinlee Morsch, Paislee Morsch and Kaylee Morsch.
He was preceded in death by a son, William Eugene Clemens, and his parents.
The family will announce a celebration of life to be held on a later date. Cremation services were accorded by the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. in Newark.
