Two people suspected of killing and robbing a man at the Plainfield Road Denny’s were arrested without incident by deputies in Iowa last Friday, according to the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.
It remains unclear why Bobbie Jean Ollom, 23, of Seneca, and Joshua T. Anderson, 20, of Chicago, were in Des Moines County last Friday. It’s also not clear if Ollom is the same woman seen on surveillance video footage that Joliet police obtained from Denny’s.
Ollom and Anderson have been charged with killing and robbing Gregory G. Brown, 36, on April 30 outside of the Denny’s at 2531 Plainfield Road. They were taken to the Des Moines County jail on Saturday.
The two are scheduled to appear in Des Moines County court Thursday for a hearing on whether they will waive or demand an extradition hearing.
At close to 4 p.m. on Friday, Joliet police issued a news release saying the “person of interest” in the video was identified and “in custody.” The news release did not specify if the woman had been arrested by Joliet police
Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum failed to respond to questions Tuesday on how Ollom and Anderson were apprehended and if Ollom was the same woman in the video.
Deputy Chief Brett Grimshaw of the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office said Joliet police contacted them and provided an address where Ollom and Anderson might be.
The address was a residence on South Prairie Grove Road in Des Moines County that reportedly belonged to Ollom’s brother, Grimshaw said.
Deputies located the two at the home and arrested them without incident about 3 p.m. Friday, he said.
The two were not immediately taken to jail, Grimshaw said. They were brought to the sheriff’s office and deputies waited for Joliet police to arrive, he said.
Will County Judge Domenica Osterberger signed a warrant for the arrest of Ollom and Anderson on May 4. Joliet police announced their arrests on Monday.
