A semitrailer carrying white sand toppled early Thursday afternoon when it struck a train at the Boyce Memorial Drive tracks near Thornton Park in Ottawa; there were no injuries.
Diesel fuel dripped from the tank so a mixing truck full of sand was brought in to soak up the fuel in order to prevent any further damage.
The Ottawa Police Department is still investigating the accident and further details will be provided later today.
As of 12:50 p.m., Boyce Memorial Drive was closed from West Lafayette Street to U.S. 6.
