Debbie Kay (Rascoe) Kuehl

STERLING – Debbie Kay (Rascoe) Kuehl, 69, of Sterling passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at her home after a brief struggle with cancer.

She was born on March 31, 1950, in Sterling, the daughter of James Clyde and Jennalee (Rhode) Rascoe. She married the love of her life, Bruce Edward Kuehl, on June 28, 1969, at the First Christian Church in Sterling. She worked at Wahl Clipper Inc.; Woolworth; Sterling Public Schools; the House of Fabric; she spent time selling real estate; she sold Avon; but, her favorite job was babysitting. Many of the children she watched and loved, remained a part of her life, even after they were grown and had children of their own.

Debbie was a long time member of Rock River Christian Center and loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior. One of her passions was singing and she sang for several years with the Rock River Quartet. She had many talents, which included sewing and mending for family and friends; crafting homemade cards to celebrate her loved ones birthdays; scrap booking; canning all the fruits and vegetables Bruce would bring home; this list could go on and on. Her favorite thing to do was to be a “Meme” and spend time with her five grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Bruce; her daughters, Kendra (Jason) Hull and Heather Wright; her mother, Jennalee Rascoe; her brother, Don (Barb) Rascoe; her five grandchildren, Kolton Wright (Sarah McCallister), Jaxen Wright (Jarrica Thayer), Spencer Hull, Phinley Wright, Levi Hull, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. at Rock River Christian Center in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow on Wednesday at
10 a.m. at the church, with the Reverend Brian Vickers and the Reverend Donald George officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
