Elizabeth J. “Betty” Salz, 85, of Streator, passed away Friday, May 17, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.  The rosary will be recited at 6:45 p.m.

Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Leonore.  Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Born March 26, 1934, in Streator she was the daughter of Oliver and Mae (Brown) Nolan.  She married Raymond Salz on June 20, 1953. He survives in Streator.

She is survived by daughters, Sandy (Tom) Eader, of Mt. Zion, and Renee (Patrick) Hastings, of Streator; grandchildren, Justin (Danielle) Warner, of Texas, Amber (Kelly) Brackeen, of Oklahoma and Lindsey (Patrick) Horath, of Arkansas; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lynn Warner; a grandson, Todd Eader; sisters, Loretta Cameron, Jeanne Muntz, Ann Whalen and Zita Skaggs; and brothers, Richard, Robert, Edward, John, Donald and Oliver Nolan.

Betty was born in Streator and was a graduate of Wenona High School.

She was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

She worked for Sunstar Foods for many years.
