Charles “Chuck” Rafferty, 85, of Marseilles, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Ottawa Pavilion.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 22 at 6 p.m. at the Seals-Campbell Funeral Home with Rev. Troy of the First Baptist church officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
He was born on February 24, 1934, in Ottawa, to Harrison and Mattie (Johnson) Rafferty. He was married to Gloria E. Campbell of South Dakota, who preceded him in death.
Chuck served in the U.S. Army as a medic. He was employed by United Airlines until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, and was an accomplished harmonica player.
He is survived by four daughters, Laurie Atencio of Colorado, Kathleen Rafferty of Oregon, Connie Dobson of California, and Kathi Trumpinski of Champaign, IL; two sons, Donn Rafferty of California and Timothy Rafferty of Indiana; ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Rainwater and Viola Irlandi; and three brothers, Ralph, Hal, and Glenn Rafferty.
