Albert S. Kmetz

Albert S. Kmetz, 83, of Streator passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at his residence in Streator. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.

Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator. The Divine Mercy Chaplet will be recited at 6:45 P.M.

Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Born April 13, 1936 in Streator, he was the son of Albert and Catherine (Kusnerick) Kmetz. He married Joyce Vogel on April 23, 1960 at St. Stephen's Church.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Kmetz of Streator; a daughter, Georgia (Glen) Braun of Rogers Park; a son, Daniel (Valerie) Kmetz of Streator; grandchildren, Alice, Annie, Chance, Ryan, Stephen, Paige and Eric; step-grandchildren, Kori, Thomas, Kyle and Kate; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Janet (Richard) Petrotte of Toledo, Ohio and Janice Gautschey of New Lennox; and a brother, William Kmetz of McHenry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1954. He was a member of the former St. Stephen's Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church.

He was a Union Pipefitter through the years. He also served in the Army Reserves.
