Ottawa

Andrea N. Cotingim, 33, Ottawa, was arrested Friday in the 600 block of East Main Street on a La Salle County failure to appear in court warrant for a charge of driving while license suspended. Cottingim was released on $300 bail.

Austin Burnett, 21, Ottawa, was arrested Saturday at Superior and Fulton streets on a complaint of unlawful violation of a stalking/no contact order. Burnett was taken to the county jail.

Morgan P. Guthrie, 29, Ottawa, was cited Saturday in the 1100 block of Columbus Street on complaints of driving while license suspended, no insurance, operating when registration suspended from no insurance and improper use of an electronic device. Guthrie was released with a court date.

Michael J. Barkau, 49, Ottawa, was arrested Saturday at West Lafayette and Chestnut streets on complaints of an unlawful violation of stalking/no contact order. Barkau was taken to the county jail.

Tad A. Lowery, 22, Ottawa, was arrested Sunday in the 400 block of West Norris Drive on a La Salle County failure to appear in court warrant for a charge of driving while license suspended. Lowery was released on $300 bail.

Maceo M. Johnston, 21, DeKalb, was cited Monday at Veterans Drive and West Stevenson Road on complaints of driving while license suspended, no insurance, disobeying a traffic control device, no valid registration and failure to secure new registration. Johnston was released with a court date.

Streator

Shelby L. Dennis, 27, Wenona, was cited at 11:48 a.m. Friday at Watson and Penn streets on a complaint of driving while license suspended. Dennis was released with a court date.

Mark A. Wargo, 63, homeless, was cited at 1:27 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Main Street on a complaint of criminal trespass to land. Wargo was released with a court date.

La Salle County

John Kerr, 41, Mendota, was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Sunday at his residence on a complaint of domestic battery. Kerr was taken to the county jail.

Amanda Akin, 32, Marseilles, was arrested at 3:55 a.m. Sunday on a complaint of DUI and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. La Salle County deputies responded to the scene to investigate a crash Akin was treated on scene by Newark EMS. Akin was released with a court date.

Arron Farrell, 42, Ottawa, was arrested at 7:09 a.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of East 2360th Road on a complaint of criminal trespassing to state-supported property, aggravated assault and cited for possession of marijuana, not more than 10 grams, and drug paraphernalia. Farrell was released with a court date.

DeKalb County

Stephanie C. Brown, 33, Kings, was arrested 11:52 p.m. Saturday at Wells and Hall streets in Sandwich on complaints of DUI, driving while license suspended and improper display of registration. Brown posted bail and was released with a court date.

Fire Calls

Ottawa firefighters responded at 4:44 p.m. Friday to 400 E. Washington St. for an alarm set off by smoke. The alarm itself was also in need of repair.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 2:19 p.m. Saturday to 1601 West Main St. for an odor investigation but nothing was found.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 7:27 p.m. Saturday to 906 Canal St. for an alarm set off by cooking smoke.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 1:34 p.m. Sunday to mile marker 90 on Interstate 80 for a report of smoke coming from a car. No smoke was present on arrival and it was discovered overflow for the radiator had no cap. The vehicle was towed.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 2:37 p.m. Sunday to 400 E. Washington St. for an alarm set off by steam.

Ottawa firefighters responded at 10:45 p.m. Sunday to the La Salle County Jail, 707 E. Etna Road, for an alarm set off when an inmate broke a sprinkler in a cell.

Streator firefighters responded at 6:57 p.m. Sunday to 501 W. Frech St. for a report of a natural gas leak in the kitchen.
