Charles R. "Chuck" Wargo, 70, of Streator passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. Sunday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Honorary pallbearers will be close friends, Dave Wilkinson, John Halko, Terry Leonard, Randy Micklos and John L. Sullivan.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Born August 15, 1949 in Streator, he was the son of George and Betty (Carlson) Wargo. He married Debbie Hiltabrand on June 8, 1968.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Wargo of Streator; daughters, Tami (Max) Broedlow of Western Springs and Tara (Kevin) Dean of Streator; a son, Todd (Jennifer) Wargo of Bolingbrook; grandchildren, Katie and Justin Broedlow; Millie, Dalton and Annabelle Dean; and Deacon, Greyson and Colston Wargo; brothers, George (Cheryl) Wargo Jr., of Streator and Jeff Wargo of Mahomet; brothers in law, Gary (Mary Jo) Hiltabrand of Streator, Dave (Charlotte) Hiltabrand of Houston and Tom (Leslie) Hiltabrand of Texas; and a sister in law, Sally Donelson of Covington, Indiana; nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Jim Hiltabrand.

Born and raised in Streator, he attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School.

He worked for GE Plastics (Borg Warner) for over 36 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Msgr. George A Dzuryo Knights of Columbus Council #790 and was very active through the years coaching his son in youth football and baseball.

Chuck was an avid fisherman and a member of the Lazy Acres Sportsman's Club. He was also a die-hard New York Yankees and Notre Dame fan. The most important thing to him was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
