William J. “Bill” Boik, 72, of Streator passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Care, Streator.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator. Rev. Fr. Ryan Mattingly will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Streator. Cremation rites have been accorded. Full military rites will be accorded by members of the Leslie G. Woods American Legion Post 217 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492.

Born March 31, 1947 in Streator he was the son of Daniel and Marion (Horaney) Boik.

He is survived by a brother, Donald (Stephanie) Boik of Reno, Nevada; step-sister, Michele (Alan) Klein of Morton; step brothers, Matthew (Theresa) Collner of Concordia, Missouri, Thomas Collner of Monroe, Louisiana and Douglas (Lisa) Collner of Raleigh, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dolores Boik; and his step-mother, Julia Boik.

Born and raised in Streator he attended St. Stephen's Grade School and graduated from Streator High School in the class of 1965. He also attended Western Illinois University.

He served in the United State Air Force during the Viet Nam era.

He worked through the years for Binion's Horseshoe Casino and the Las Vegas Club as a Blackjack dealer and Pit boss for over 20 years. He returned to Streator in 1991.

He was a member of the former St. Anthony Church and currently belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Church, Streator.

He enjoyed playing guitar and singing. He also loved water color painting.
