Thomas M. Guerrero, 74, of Ottawa, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 16,2019 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Reverend Jeremy Dixon officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, November 15, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Columba Cemetery.

Tom was born April 27, 1945 in Ottawa, Illinois to Jess and Josephine (Torres) Guerrero. He married Dorothy Katrein on December 6, 1968 in Morris, Illinois.

Tom attended St. Columba Grade School and Ottawa High School. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from LOF after 33 years. Tom spent time in his younger years playing short stop on local softball teams, coaching Connie MACK, golfing, and plenty of fishing trips with family and friends. Tom spent a lot of time watching the Cubs with Uncle Arkie. Tom was a die hard Bears fan and enjoyed spending Sundays watching football. Tom took pride in following his grandchildren in all of their athletic accomplishments. Tom had a huge heart and let everyone in. He will truly be missed by everyone.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Dorothy Guerrero of Ottawa; his sons, Tom (Tina) Guerrero of Utica, Derek Guerrero of Ottawa, Douglas (Melissa) Guerrero of Ottawa; and his daughters, Laurie Guerrero of Ottawa and Leslie (Brian) Vetter of Bloomington. Tom also had special people he treated like his own including Tommie Nanouski, Jackie Timm, Melissa Eichelkraut-Merritte, Julie Eichelkraut, and Shelly Sutton. Tom is also survived by his granddaughters, Isabell, Ellie, Mollie, and Reilly Vetter and Alysha Eichelkraut; his grandsons, Justin, Adam, Luke and Palmer Guerrero; his brothers-in-law, Tom (Vicki) Katrein and John "Jack" Elias; his sisters-in-law, Julia Katrein and Florence Katrein; his brothers, John (Rose) Guerrero and Jesse (Patty) Guerrero; his sisters, Rita Guerrero, Delores Harden, Mary (Shawn) Holloway; his brother-in-law Chuck Rausch; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Tony Katrein; his mother-in-law, Catherine Katrein; his sister, Chris Rausch; his sister-in-law, Beverly Elias; his brothers-in-law, William and Robert Katrein and Gene "Shorty" Harden, his nephews, Jeff Guerrero and Charles and Michael Rausch; and his "Uncle" Arkie Kerrigan.
