Joanna Stith, 84, of Wenona, passed away November 16, 2019, in Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Antioch Christian Church in Toluca with Rev. Bob Idell officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of services. Burial will be in Cumberland Cemetery in Wenona. The Hurst Funeral Home in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Stith was born in Rockford on June 1, 1935, to Lonsdale Briddick and Victoria (Zalewski) Schorn. She married Clifford Dale Stith on April 20, 1957. She attended Wenona Grade School. She worked in the kitchen at Wenona High School and then Monte Casino Nursing Home in Toluca.

Joanna was a previous leader of the Wenona Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Wenona American Legion Auxiliary. She served several years of the Wenona parade committee and the Light-Up Wenona committee for several years. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and she was very crafty at making many beautiful things. She loved to travel. She especially enjoyed cruising and going to Disney with her family. Joanna loved spending time with her grandchildren; she leaves them with many fond memories. Every day, her favorite thing was having breakfast with her friends at Boardwalk. Joanna also enjoyed flower gardening and decorating her yard.

Mrs. Stith is survived by three daughters Sallie (Doug) Long of Mount Dora, FL, Vicki (Jeff) McKnight of Wenona, and Linda (Jimmer) Ince of Kewanee; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2013, and one brother Ronald Briddick.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Colt Smith, Levi Nave, Chris McKnight, Jordan Nave, and Daniel Long and son-in-laws Jeff McKnight, Doug Long, and Jimmer Ince.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wenona Ambulance, Wenona Food Pantry, or Antioch Christian Church.
